Columbus falls to Mississippi RiverKings in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Matt Harrington gave Mississippi RiverKings a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Columbus Cottonmouths when he scored 1:15 into the extra period.

In a losing effort, Columbus was led by Dan Bremner, who grabbed two goals. Bremner scored the first of his two goals at 7:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Columbus. Jason Gray provided the assist. Bremner's next tally made the score 2-2 with 1:38 left in the third period. Matt Gingera picked up the assist.

Mississippi RiverKings was led by Harrington, who racked up one goal and one assist.

Mississippi RiverKings forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up four minors and three majors for 23 minutes in penalty time. Mississippi RiverKings surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Mississippi RiverKings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Columbus power plays. By firing 34 shots on goal, Mississippi RiverKings exceeded the 29.0 shots it averages per game this year.

Mississippi RiverKings also got a goal from Devin Mantha as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mississippi RiverKings were Matt Whitehead, Andrew Randazzo, and Charles LaChance, who each chipped in one.

Mississippi RiverKings was unable to stop the Cottonmouths from sending pucks towards the net, and Columbus eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

More assists for Columbus came via Kyle Johnson and Jordan Braid, who contributed one a piece.

Matthew Krahn rejected 31 shots on goal for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Andrew Loewen recorded 31 saves for the Cottonmouths. Columbus ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and three majors.
